Cone Health Foundation Continues Support of Other Voices

Other Voices May 2019

This year’s Other Voices participants include Holly Sienkiewicz with UNCG Center for New North Carolinians and Matt Martin with North Carolina AIDS Action Network.

Cone Health Foundation has developed a unique relationship with Greensboro Chamber of Commerce’s Other Voices program, a leadership development and community-building experience.  Beginning in 2012, the Foundation has supported Board members, staff and grantee partner organizations’ participation in this year-long journey of self-discovery.   Through frank and open dialogue, participants build their insight and understanding of the roots of prejudice.

The program facilitator helps participants determine how “oppressive-isms” affect their quality of life in shared cross-cultural environments. The opportunity to: evaluate personal biases that play out in behaviors; develop a vision for dealing with problems; sharpen skills and strategies for alleviating these problems individually, at the workplace, and in the community are all included.
