Triad Health Project Meets Client Goal Two Years Ahead of Schedule
Triad Health Project (THP) has a 33-year history of advancing the well-being of people living with and affected by HIV, many of whom are underserved and marginalized. This past year, Triad Health Project clients attained 91% viral suppression which met a goal the organization set two years ahead of schedule. We celebrate their heroic efforts in keeping people living with HIV healthy.
Recent scientific advances have shown that antiretroviral therapy not only preserves the health, quality of life, and life expectancy of people living with HIV, but people living with HIV who take HIV medicine as prescribed and get and keep an undetectable viral load have effectively no risk of transmitting HIV to their HIV-negative sexual partners. These developments have transformed the approach to HIV prevention. By ensuring that everyone with HIV is aware of their infection, receives the treatment they need, and achieves sustained viral suppression, we can sharply reduce new infections in our community.
